2019, the year healthcare went Unlimited.

We want to take this opportunity to say thank you 🙏 for all your support in 2019.

This was a big year for us, and we could not have done it without you. We made healthcare even more accessible for our members and their families, as well as businesses across the country.

Our most significant change was the decision to give all our members unlimited access to our team of doctors and specialists for their monthly, or yearly fee. It makes us not only the most affordable private healthcare provider in the U.K but also the most committed.

Here are some of our highlights and announcements…

Growing Demand

We’re excited to say we saw our membership grow substantially due to organic recommendation, and the demand for Telehealth services in the U.K. Average appointment times grew, and our members embraced and took comfort in having a doctor in their pockets.

The NHS today is constrained in the resources it has, that’s not a situation that is going to change any time soon, so services like Vala are providing a valuable back-up for people seeking speedy, on-demand medical support.

Our members have been using Vala in a multitude of ways; Some regularly use our video calling service, while others opt to use our chat messaging option during appointments. We’ve seen members with a pre-existing condition that need more frequent monitoring use their smartphone or tablet to speak to us regularly. While other members that don’t require such active support dip into the service on a more ad-hoc, peace-of-mind way while they’re travelling, or when their children become sick.We’ve spent a lot of time in 2019 listening to feedback, and collaborating with our members, and in 2020 we’re creating new services to offer support for mental health and wellbeing.

It’s great to see people using the service in a way that suits their needs. That was always our original vision; Healthcare the way you want it.Over the festive period, we expect to see even more patterns in how Vala is utilised. You can find out more here.

Exciting Updates for 2020

We won’t stand-still. Unlimited, affordable healthcare for the masses needs to support people in the way they want to be supported. Which is why we’ve started work on some fascinating new developments for 2020.At Vala we firmly believe that technology is just an enabler for better healthcare outcomes. But technology can also make healthcare more seamless and more on-demand. We use data ethically and continue to be a service focused on security.In 2020 we’ll be releasing a brand new app that will let members register, book, and speak to our doctors more efficiently. We’re also rolling Vala out across other smart devices that we believe will create an experience that is better for our members and our doctors.

Socially Responsible Technology

Our commitment not to put a technological barrier between members and doctors has never been stronger, so all the updates we’re making will enforce that vision. An excellent example of this is the way we’re going to be using basic Artificial Intelligence to offer real-time subtitles, and note-taking for our doctors and members during appointments.We’re people-driven, people-focused, and committed to advancing how healthcare is delivered.

Expanding Talent

2019 saw us grow our team with some exciting new hires that help us on our journey to become the go-to service for on-demand healthcare in the world. Behind the scenes, and during appointments, we’re expanding our team of doctors as well as our core operational team.
